Feeling Upside Down

Feeling Upside Down portrays a single giraffe whose body seems to break the boundaries of the canvas. Its long neck disappears beyond one side of the painting, only to return from above, with its head hanging upside down. What initially looks impossible becomes the visual representation of the title itself.

Covered in irregular patches of bold colour, the giraffe exists in a playful, distorted world where perspective doesn’t have to make sense. The soft lilac background contrasts with the chaotic shapes, loose marks and handwritten “FEELING UPSIDE DOWN,” giving the piece an almost innocent appearance while carrying a deeper feeling underneath.

It is about those moments when you are still yourself, still standing in the same world, but somehow everything feels turned around. Nothing has to physically change for your perspective to feel completely upside down.
