Swirling shades

A figure with outstretched arms emerges from swirling shades of blue and white, suspended in a space that feels somewhere between water and sky. Flowing white lines wind around the body, while a sharp band of geometric shapes cuts across the centre. The contrast between soft brushwork and angular forms gives the painting a sense of movement interrupted.

The piece holds a tension between surrender and restriction. The open posture suggests release, while the fragmented strip interrupts that freedom, leaving the figure caught between being held and breaking away. Its cool palette carries both calm and unrest, allowing those feelings to exist together.

Arms open, somewhere between holding on and letting go.
